Posted on by Household 6 and Co.

I don’t know about you guys but cleaning is not my favorite thing to do and sometimes can be so hard to get done when you have your favorite Soap Opera on and a big bag of Bon-Bon’s to munch on. With every one getting ready to go back to school and summer break is coming to an end this is a simple little check list that might help you get your house in tip top shape for the new school year. This is broke down into sections or days on when to do these things. This way it does not take you as much time because you can break it up.

First is the Foyer:

-Dust the lighting fixtures
-Wipe down the trim
-Wipe down the walls and the switch plates
-Wipe down the doors and door knobs
-Go through the closest and get rid of all of those coats that no longer fit anymore.
-Since this is such a high traffic area, sometimes it is better to just get rid of the entry mat all together and get a new one.
-Sweep the floors
-Mop or scrub the floors

This is something that you do on the first day and continue on to the next room the next day. Depending on the size of your foyer, this should only take you about one and half hours to two hours at the most to complete.

Also don’t forget to:
-Go through those annoying stacks of paper that you have and get the important documents where they need to be and shred the rest.

Hopefully with doing one room a day you can have all of this complete in less than a week and be ready to start the new school year. Happy Cleaning!! :)
